ImPromptU addresses the lack of accessible, personalized public speaking coaching. Many students, professionals, and aspiring speakers struggle to improve because they have limited opportunities to practice and rarely receive immediate, detailed feedback. Traditional methods often rely on teachers, coaches, or peers, making consistent practice difficult. ImPromptU provides an AI-powered platform where users can practice speeches anytime and receive instant evaluations on key speaking skills.

Users begin by accessing the Practice page, where they can either record a speech using their webcam or upload a prerecorded video. The recording is sent to a Flask backend that processes the speech using artificial intelligence and computer vision technologies, including Whisper, OpenCV, and MediaPipe.
The AI evaluates six major speaking categories:

After processing, users receive an overall performance score, individual category scores, and personalized suggestions for improvement. They can save completed speeches to their portfolio, monitor their progress over time through a dedicated progress dashboard, and explore the community page to learn from other speakers and improve their techniques.
