Inspiration

I've always been an escape room girlie...and I've also always been a fan of 5 minute mysteries and riddles with cheeky solutions. I wanted to create a fun series of rooms that I could rotate out monthly that give people the quick brain burst of an escape room...without needing 30 minutes to complete it.

What it does

There are 5 rooms with one solution. There is also a game called Portal Parkour where you have to choose the correct pattern of portal to get to the top - then there are a few platforms to actually hop on to get to the top.

How we built it

I built mostly primatively, but imported some key graphics in using Blender.

Challenges we ran into

The leaderboard was glitchy for a while. I had to leave and come back a few times to complete things because things would get a little glitchy in general. I also had trouble renaming scripts, so the scripting got a little messy. I also attempted to use the Gen AI function for sounds but everything was pretty creepy sounding.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I built and scripted everything on my own. All of the rooms as well as the parkour portaling took some time, but it was satisfying to complete.

What we learned

Building in VR is immensely easier than typescript, but typescript opens up so many more possibilities.

What's next for Impossibly Possible Puzzles + Portal Parkour

I will be updating with new puzzles monthly to encourage users to return. As I learn more with workshops and teaching myself, I will be able to add more features and play options to the world!
