Inspiration

I wanted to learn how to implement a secure and user-friendly authentication system that allows users to log in and log out efficiently. Auth0, with its comprehensive authentication and authorization platform, seemed like the perfect tool to explore and integrate.

What it does

This project enables user authentication by implementing login and logout functionalities using the Auth0 Python SDK. It provides a user-facing interface where users can securely log in with their credentials or third-party services (like Google) and log out with ease. The app uses Auth0 to manage user sessions, store user profile information, and ensure that only authorized users can access certain parts of the application.

How we built it

Using Python and Flask, a step-by-step follow instructions was very useful available from docs.

Challenges we ran into

Since, AuthO was very new to me, I needed extra time to get familiar with the concepts but the docs was to my rescue. Ensuring the correct configuration of callback and logout URLs was crucial for a seamless experience, but this required careful attention to detail to avoid errors during redirection.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I was able to follow the instructions clearly and learnt to implement login and logout functionality using AuthO Python SDK.

What we learned

Gained a deeper understanding of authentication, Learned how to use Auth0’s Python SDK to implement authentication and authorization in a real-world application.

What's next for Implement Login and Logout

Acquired knowledge of security best practices for handling user credentials and managing authentication states.
