Inspiration

Cybersecurity is a pillar in our society, and yet our security is an issue that we take into consideration each and every day. Not everyone has access to high-impact platforms, and if you do, they're costly and very limiting. Security should not be an asset for the rich, but a necessity for all Canadian citizens. Furthermore, learning about cybersecurity should be easy. This is where Imperium comes in- launching products and learning about cybersafety with ease.

What it does

Imperium is a platform for cybersecurity. There are 3 main parts to the project that will revolutionize security. The first aspect is the platform. This is where you get login information, access to terminate information and security tips. The second part is the demos. When creating your own site, privacy and logins are difficult without high-cost plans. On Imperium, you have access to login and authentication demos that can easily be implemented into your site and information. You get notifications when there is a login anywhere, and you can restrict right-clicking that aids in hacking. Finally, we have our summarization which takes current news about cybersecurity and summarizes it, producing easy to read the text for the user. This brings down articles to 3 sentences or approximately 92% shorter. My objective was to make learning about cybersecurity as easy and as fun as possible. Getting the gist while also having that digital impact is critical.

How I built it

Imperium was built with a wide variety of technologies.

  • The design was built with React, one of the most powerful and impactful frameworks available. The dashboard was built using React, TailwindCSS and other libraries.
  • The sample was built with React, Redux and NodeJS, and utilizes a serverless backend for login and ease of use for the user. Finally, the summarization was built with Python with a 93% accuracy rate. On the main page, there are 5 different pages. The dashboard has all the main information and updates for logins. The analysis takes a closer look into recent updates. Issues is anything to do with our demo logins and changes that need to be made. Settings is to override any changes/view profiles.
  • Finally, the news is where the summarization will take articles and implement them to the system. This last aspect is critical because it is important for people to know and stay updated with cybersecurity news. This can be how to stay safe, recent breaches, etc... Our APIs and Summarization are unlike any other

What's next for Imperium

The next step for Imperium is actually creating a platform. I would love to see how these three aspects would come together. Additionally, creating more demos would be great so I can actually put this idea on the market. Furthermore, adding web-scraping to the ML model would increase performance. Finally, I would want to get in touch with professionals about the idea.

Data centralization is a key issue, and it is more than important to address it with confidence.
