Inspiration

I realized that in the digital era, a résumé is no longer enough — a portfolio is a personal identity. I wanted to create a site that not only displays my work but also tells my story, showcases my skills, and reflects my personality as a developer.

What it does

Imperfectly Perfect is my personal developer portfolio. It presents my projects, skills, and achievements while representing my growth and individuality. The site is interactive, responsive, and designed to leave a strong impression on anyone viewing it.

How we built it

  • Home / Hero Section: Interactive, warm greeting with direct contact links.
  • Projects: Highlights of major projects like MindfulMe, TrustChain, and Durian Quality Checker, including tech stacks and demos.
  • Skills: Organized technology stack with hover effects and responsive layout.
  • Achievements: Awards and recognitions displayed in visually appealing cards.
  • Contact Section: Friendly call-to-action with email, LinkedIn, and GitHub links. I built the portfolio using React, Tailwind CSS, and Lucide icons, implementing smooth scrolling, responsiveness, and subtle animations to enhance user experience.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was time — I had only 7 hours before the submission deadline, which coincided with my usual sleep schedule. Despite this, I managed to design, code, and deploy a fully functional and visually appealing portfolio from scratch.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Successfully built and deployed a complete personal portfolio under extreme time constraints.
  • Created a professional, responsive, and interactive website that reflects my personal brand.
  • Demonstrated my technical skills in React, Tailwind CSS, animations, and responsive design.

What we learned

  • How to rapidly develop and deploy a polished React project under time pressure.
  • The importance of component reusability and clean project structure.
  • How animations, interactivity, and responsive design improve user experience and portfolio presentation.

What's next for Imperfectly Perfect

  • Introduce Dark/Light mode toggle for user personalization.
  • Optimize performance and SEO for better accessibility and visibility.
  • Continuously update the portfolio with new projects, skills, and achievements to keep it current.
