Inspiration
The inspiration for "Children's Refuge" stemmed from a deep concern for the millions of children affected by labor exploitation worldwide. Witnessing the harsh realities faced by these children motivated me to create a platform that raises awareness and advocates for their rights.
What it does
"Children's Refuge" serves as an educational resource, providing information about child labor, its causes, and its consequences. The website aims to engage users through interactive content and promote advocacy efforts to combat child labor globally.
How we built it
We built the project using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create a user-friendly interface. Collaborating with a diverse team allowed us to combine our skills in design, coding, and content creation, resulting in a cohesive and impactful website.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was ensuring that the content was both informative and engaging. Balancing educational material with interactive elements required extensive brainstorming and iteration to achieve the right tone and design.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of successfully launching the website within the hackathon timeframe. The positive feedback from users during testing validated our approach and highlighted the project's potential impact on raising awareness about child labor.
What we learned
This experience taught us the importance of teamwork and effective communication. We learned how to integrate various perspectives into our project, enhancing both its design and functionality.
What's next for Children's Refuge
Moving forward, we plan to expand the website's content and features, including partnerships with NGOs and interactive campaigns. Our goal is to further engage the community and amplify our advocacy efforts against child labor.
