Inspiration

We wanted to help organizations, especially non-profits and small businesses make smarter, data-driven decisions without getting bogged down in manual processes. Seeing how much time and effort is wasted on repetitive tasks inspired us to create a tool that simplifies impact tracking and reporting.

What it does

ImpactLens streamlines data collection, analysis, and reporting, allowing organizations to track their environmental and operational impact. Users can upload files, visualize insights, and make actionable decisions quickly and accurately.

How we built it

We built ImpactLens using a modern tech stack that integrates a React front-end with a Python backend. AI data parsing, analytics algorithms, and a clean, intuitive UI make it easy for users to upload and manage their data efficiently.

Challenges we ran into

Handling large and inconsistent data uploads was tricky, especially ensuring accurate parsing and preventing duplicates. Integrating analytics that are both fast and accurate while keeping the UI responsive also posed some challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully implemented smart duplicate detection, real-time analytics, and a user-friendly interface that allows organizations to gain insights from their data in minutes instead of hours.

What we learned

We learned how to design systems that handle messy real-world data, implement efficient data workflows, and prioritize user experience. We also gained experience working collaboratively under tight deadlines.

What's next for ImpactLens

We plan to expand the platform with predictive analytics, automated recommendations, and broader integrations so that organizations can not only track impact but also proactively optimize their operations.
