Inspiration
We were inspired by the disconnect between brilliant ideas and real-world impact. Many communities have urgent challenges—climate risks, access to education, local health needs—but lack the tools or collaborators to take action. At the same time, many developers and creatives want to help but don’t know where to start. ImpactHub bridges that gap by matching people, projects, and problems in a single collaborative platform.
What it does
ImpactHub is an AI-powered collaboration platform that helps changemakers build solutions to real-world problems. Users can:
Submit a challenge or idea
Get matched with potential team members and mentors
Access tools and templates for rapid prototyping
Track impact and share progress through community channels
Whether you're a developer, designer, activist, or student — if you have the will, ImpactHub helps you find the way.
How we built it
We used:
HTML/CSS for the front-end prototype
Python + Flask for a basic matching algorithm backend (not in ZIP yet but can be added)
All assets packaged into a simple, lightweight submission format
Challenges we ran into
Designing a simple but powerful matching system without collecting sensitive user data
Creating meaningful recommendations without a large dataset
Time constraints meant focusing on the core concept and UX instead of full backend implementation
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Designed a clear end-to-end concept with real-world value
Built a working demo site and documentation in under 24 hours
Created a solution that could easily scale to school clubs, NGOs, or even city-wide programs
What we learned
Simplicity wins — the more intuitive the platform, the more accessible it becomes
AI matching is powerful, but trust and community buy-in matter even more
Hackathons aren't just about code — they’re about designing solutions that could live on
What's next for ImpactHub
Build a working AI matching backend using embeddings + vector search
Add login/authentication and project dashboards
Launch with a small test community (e.g., students or youth organisations)
Integrate with tools like Notion, GitHub, and Miro to support team workflows
Open source the platform so others can build with us
