Inspiration

A tree on a snack poster inspired us to think about sustainability.

What it does

This is a browser plug-in solution that anyone can download to make informed purchase decisions when they are online shopping. The product is designed to allow users to set personal impact goals and track their progress!

How we built it

We used Vue to develop the front-end and firebase to store a user's product views and purchases. We used Figma to design the UI/UX.

Challenges we ran into

We were unable to obtain a life cycle assessment database due to the high cost. This would have allowed us to create significantly better assessments of a product's environmental impact.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

What we learned

No one on the team has ever developed a browser extension before, so learning how to do this was a rewarding experience.

What's next for Impact-Less

The goal is to create an extension that would allow users to not only see the environmental impact of a product but also be able to review products and give recommendations for future users.
