Inspiration

Students I know in real life often get distracted while they are chasing their dreams and we hope to help them get back on track. We wanted a tool that can help students to eliminate distractions and motivate them to help them make their lives easier.

What we learned

How to make chrome extensions as well as saving data to user's chrome account. Interacting with APIs and connecting them with chrome extension apis.

What it does

Generate a quote while you search something on google. Motivates when they are focusing while discouraging them when they get off track. It also tracks it.

How we built it

We used chrome extension apis alongside html, css, and javascript, combined with API usage to openai to create an extension.

Challenges we ran into

Not understanding why some people procrastinates. we had trouble with time management, understand how the openai API worked.

What's next for IMotivate

Track more usage, more functionalities such as todo list, random quote of the day.
