IMP is a mobile app that offers an anonymous, customizable and accessible legal aid, creating a safe space for guests to ask questions about immigration and get support through a daunting process while knowing their data is safe and protected. The main feature of the app is to allow guests to chat with legal consultants and social workers in their native language about their unique path to immigration and get advice about which path best suits the guest’s goals. The only data that we take is a username or email, a password, and which mentor the guest spoke to previously, for guest’s future reference. Our design arose from a need for an accessible guide to immigration law, where finding information on achieving residency where circumstances, such as time, documentation loss, and crises, make the process difficult and time-consuming. If no path is one-size-fits all, no advice should be.
