Inspiration
Our passion for wildlife conservation and the potential of technology to transform learning experiences inspired us to create an immersive wildlife simulation. We wanted to offer a realistic, risk-free way to explore, understand, and manage wildlife ecosystems, bridging the gap between people and nature. By enabling hands-on learning and strategy-building, this project empowers conservationists, educators, and wildlife enthusiasts to appreciate and protect our environment better.
What it does
The immersive wildlife simulation replicates real-world ecosystems, allowing users to observe, interact with, and manage wildlife habitats in a virtual environment. It’s a tool for training, conservation planning, and education, providing realistic scenarios to experiment with strategies for sustainable wildlife management without impacting natural habitats.
How we built it
We plan to build the simulation using Unity for 3D environments and C# for programming behaviors. AI algorithms simulate animal movements, behaviors, and environmental changes in real time. Blender can also be used to design realistic animal and landscape models, integrate data-driven insights to ensure ecosystem accuracy.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we faced were gaining more on current wildlife management. We had take our time to understand the gaps and issues that we can use our solution to build on. Although there were many gaps identified , we wanted to make sure our solution would integrate the community. Hence alot of research went into our knowledge gain
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud of creating an engaging, educational simulation plan that is both impactful and functional.
What we learned
Throughout this project, we deepened our understanding of wildlife behaviors, ecosystem interactions, and the role of technology in conservation. We also learned about optimizing performance in simulations, balancing detail and functionality.
What's next for Immersive Wildlife Simulation
Next if given the opportunity , we aim to build and expand the simulation’s ecosystem variety, adding new animal species and interactive environmental challenges.
