Inspiration

I was challenged to try using OCR software for the first time. I am inspired by those in the medical profession who spend much of their workday and post-work time taking patient notes. I could see how for some, it may be easier to hand write the notes during treatment and then use OCR to parse them later.

What it does

The app simply takes an image from a user and parses the text

How we built it

Using python as a base, flask to host the app, and tesseract from Google to do the actual OCR parsing.

What's next for img --> text

Further developing the app to allow users to "train" their own models on their hadwriting.
