In our daily experiences, we always need apps of Map to guide us to the destination. For food fanatics, we already have the "OpenRice". For drivers, we now have the "OpenDrive". Hong Kong is a densely populated city, drivers always encounter difficulties on instant road information which include location of nearest car parks, petrol stations and meters. Our comprehensive online map is designated for Hong Kong drivers.
What it does
-mapping instant car-parking information -e-routing to meters and car park nearby, which can be sorted according to the distance and required updated fee of that parking services. -info for refilling the gas, the instant price of gas provided by the petrol stations -provide the emergency contact for drivers -info for instant road news (e.g. road block, car accidents) -user-to-user function :setting up a platform for drivers to upload some available parking space
How I built it
We write the mobile web on html and then use Github to upload it to azure for hosting.
Challenges I ran into
-We have limited knowledge on Microsoft azure so we spend a lot of time to get familiar with it.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
To save resources, we used my google map on our web page for accurate routing information.
What I learned
-From 0 to 100; -Actually, my teammate and I didn't expect this hackathon required advanced programming languages and we were stopped by various of coding trouble. We are really appreciate that the Microsoft student helper did help us a lot on the technical issues. With their assistance, we understood the basic operation of Microsoft azure and few major features like messaging of it, we hope we can apply these features on our future product.
