Inspiration
There are a lot of amazing images that AI can create, but we were thinking about how it is possible for AI to create those works. Because AI uses machine learning everything it produces is from public sources and that includes artists' work that is publicly accessible. The AI will use this artwork without crediting the original source so it can generate an image using the likeness of the artist work.
What it does
We would like to prevent the AI from being able to do such by modifying the artwork enough that the AI cannot identify it for their use. The program allows the user to upload an images and returns an image that an image that an image that cannot be identified by the AI.
How we built it
It was built using Python 3.
Challenges we ran into
It was a challenge to understand the neural networks and then building it. Another challenge was trying to find methods to identify the most influential aspects of the image to modify it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to understand complex topics in relation to AI and apply it to a program meant to prevent something as powerful as generative AI from doing what it was created to do.
What we learned
We learned how to find resources to understand concepts and we achieved a significantly deeper understanding on how AI utilizes data to execute its purpose.
What's next for Image Use Protector
We hope to further develop it to identity a broader range of public images.
