Inspiration

Inspired by our perpetual hunger and desire to eat out, but our equally perpetual ineptitude in actually picking a place to go eat.

What it does

im-hungry is a website designed to help you choose a place to eat around College Park, Maryland. Ever not known where to go to eat? Then you ask your friends to pick so you don’t have to! If they can’t pick either? Well with our revolutionary app, you can leave that to us! As long as you give us some kind of basic information, such as the time you’re looking to eat, and what kinds of food you’d like to eat, you can leave your meal to our random website! We’ll take your information and match it with one of our top-notch restaurants in the College Park area.

How we built it

We used React to build our frontend UI, and coded the filtering logic in JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

  • The biggest challenge was arguably time input. It’s literally 5 am right now, I desperately crave sleep. With having only one team member experienced with JavaScript and React, we had to use a lot of our time to introduce the rest of us to use the languages.
  • My lack of a brain
  • Collecting data and deciding how to store the data
