Inspiration

The difficulties surrounding making friends at uni.

What it does

Our app aims to allow students to meet other students and solve a variety of challenges commonly faced in educational environments. It would help reduce social isolation by making it easier for students to connect with peers who share similar interests, courses, or backgrounds. The app could also facilitate the formation of study groups, making academic collaboration more accessible and efficient. Additionally, it could serve as a platform for networking, helping students build relationships that support both their academic and professional goals.

How we built it

Backend: Supabase, Springboot Frontend: Next.JS

Challenges we ran into

Getting the register page to upload the images to the storage bucket on Supabase Normalising the database instead of keeping all the records in one big table

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Developing a fully functional chat feature that allows P2P live chatting. Implementing a min heap data structure to sort through potential matches and show the user the most compatible match based on a similarity score.
