Inspiration

My inspiration came from the rise of AI tools. With a filmmaking background, I wanted to explore how far AI could push the boundaries of visual storytelling. When KlingAI released the Start and End Frame feature in 2.1, I saw an opportunity to experiment and test its cinematic potential.

What it does

Ikoko is a proof-of-concept AI film trailer. It serves as an experimental foundation with the ambition of expanding it into a short or even a feature film created entirely with AI tools.

How we built it

I used ChatGPT to refine the story, MidJourney to design characters, and KlingAI to animate them with lifelike motion. SunoAI generated the soundtrack, Google Native Speech Generation provided the voiceover, and DaVinci Resolve brought everything together in the final edit.

Challenges we ran into

Prompting KlingAI effectively was a major challenge, especially for dynamic fly-through city shots. It took multiple generations and additional research to master the right techniques for smooth, cinematic camera movements.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully combined multiple AI tools into a cohesive workflow, transforming static prompts into a cinematic trailer that feels alive and compelling.

What we learned

We discovered the importance of precision in prompting and tool integration. AI filmmaking is not just about generating visuals but also about directing, editing, and shaping outputs like a traditional film.

What's next for Ikoko - AI Film Trailer

We plan to expand Ikoko into a web series on our YouTube channel, experimenting with advanced AI pipelines to prove that AI can be more than a tool—it’s a new frontier for filmmaking.
