Inspiration

As a person with multiple hobbies, I often found it hard to decide a career path. Sometimes it's math, sometimes it's music. So, coincidentally, I was reading a book called Ikigai, which had a few principles on the purpose of life. So I thought, why not apply this philosophically to a career platform? So yeah, that has led me to build Ikigai.

What it does

IkigAI is your AI-powered career companion that calculates your careerDNA by understanding your deep personality and work culture values. Apart from career discovery, ikigAI fully supports you through the career management as well.

How we built it

IkigAI was built based on the ikigai principles : what do you love, what are you good at, what the world needs & what can pay you. Apart from these very core work cultures values have also been considered like Pay, Autonomy, Variety, Stability, Alignment

Challenges we ran into

  1. I pondered a lot on how to not make ikigAI an other buzz feed Quiz or career path finder. I had to come up with a lot of different ideas to gamify it and make it fun yet meaningful.
  2. Personalities of people are very hard to define thus I had to come up with an idea that categorises but not generalises. ## Accomplishments that we're proud of
  3. I learnt a new programming language called Jac within 5 hours and implemented it into my AI features(thanks to the clear docs and refs!)
  4. I built the UI/UX completely with my own drawings and illustrations.
  5. I will be more proud if my ikigAI can help many more people like me! ## What we learned

  7. Implementation of cognitive thinking in AI
  8. Researching deep is important. ## What's next for IkigAI
  9. Dynamic memory : a part of this is implemented but in future, i would love to see ikigAI handling evolving passions/ambitions
  10. Make other people try this platform and collect feedback/tips on how to make it better
  11. Create our own roadmap portal with fully fledged information as right now it refers to roadmap.sh
