Inspiration
The inspiration for IKA came from the realization that over 75% of the 13 million Kirana stores in India face challenges in digitizing their businesses. We wanted to create a solution that would empower these small-scale grocery stores to thrive in the e-commerce landscape.
What it does
IKA, powered by Google AI, acts as a co-pilot for Kirana stores on their journey to e-commerce. It provides personalized guidance on legalities, finances, marketing, and supply chain optimization. It also offers customer insights and location-based recommendations for suppliers and delivery partners.
How we built it
We leveraged Google’s cutting-edge AI technology to build IKA. The user-friendly chatbot was designed to understand questions and provide clear answers or helpful resources in multiple languages.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was simplifying complex information and making it accessible to Kirana store owners who may not be tech-savvy. Ensuring the chatbot could understand and respond effectively in multiple languages was another challenge.

What’s next for IKA - Intelligent Kirana Assistant

We also plan to expand its features to include more languages and further personalize the assistance it provides. Our ultimate goal is to make IKA an indispensable tool for every Kirana store’s e-commerce journey.
