Women in pakistan are attacked everyday, everywhere. We wanted to provide one solution to help these women report incidents, support their needs and minimize future occurances.
We can build a integrated platform in a 3 prong approach
- an automated phone system which allow discrete reporting and connect to the right NGO
- a mobile app which allow discrete reporting and connect to the right NGO
- a database created from call info to generate useful info (e.g. hot spot) to focus NGO support deployment
How I built it
-We used ruby gem and twilio to make this phone system.
Challenges I ran into
- Spreading the word, getting users
- Getting the initial funding for this project
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
-we implemented the phone system -we created prototypes and risk, cost analysis for our future mobile application
What I learned
- smartphone availability is not as wide as we think it is -we learned about the issues in Pakistan.
What's next for iHelp
-make it Global -make the mobile application -we are making it easy for women to report and contribute to the society by empowering women in Pakistan
