What it does
Predicts wildfire risk before fires spread, shows hotspot maps, and sends location-specific early alerts using real-time environmental intelligence.
How we built it
Gemini for reasoning + Search Grounding for live weather + Maps Grounding for terrain + custom risk engine + intuitive dashboard UI.
Challenges
Noisy data, meaningful risk thresholds, avoiding alert fatigue, and integrating multiple Google capabilities into a smooth user experience.
Accomplishments
Working predictive prototype, localized risk insights, human-centered UX, and real proof that AI can strengthen disaster preparedness.
What we learned
Grounded AI = better accuracy. Trust needs clarity. Impactful climate tech requires both engineering and thoughtful design.
What’s next
Satellite imagery integration, partnerships with agencies, community tools, and scaling to global wildfire-prone regions.
