Inspiration

During this pandemic, after my contract at Cirque du Soleil got suspended, I decided to write down this donation improvement solution that, I believe, needs to get to market fast in order to be able to help real people asap.

What it does

It's an app (or web-based platform) that makes donation mainly more transparent. It allows the user to see how her funds are spent. Thanks to blockchain's Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) it has a lot more added benefits (security, speed, decentralization, stability with stable coins, etc). It also makes it super easy for the average, read: non-tech-savvy, grandmother to use.

How I built it

I used balsamiq to create the 3 prototypes for #1 the Donor (the User), #2 the Charity organization and #3 its employees. I also wrote everything in plain English. I'm not a coder AT ALL. ;)

Challenges I ran into

Tons. Every step of the way is new to me so I had to learn from scratch how to explain my vision on a software design...

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

To have managed to follow my instinct that, even though I'm nowhere near being a programmer, I managed to be here today writing this devpost story for this app that I am sure is required for our world to become a better place.

What I learned

a lot of terms like MVP, IPA, front-end, back-end, UI, UX (still don't know what the real difference is between the two...), and everything to do with DLT and blockchain universe.

What's next for igivit Donation App - Improving Philanthropy with Blockchain

Well, to put it out there so people know about it and then find people that can help build it and bring it to life.
