💡 Inspiration

The rise in digital fatigue and emotional isolation inspired us to create a calming space within Horizon Worlds where users can safely check in with their feelings. We wanted to blend AI with mindfulness to help users reflect, decompress, and grow emotionally—even in a virtual world.

🧠 What it does

Igarys is a peaceful, mobile-friendly Horizon World featuring an AI-powered companion named Iga. Users interact with Iga by selecting how they feel—Calm, Anxious, Stressed, or Sad—and receive supportive responses, coping exercises, or positive affirmations. As users progress, they unlock emotional rewards, badges, and shareable moments.

🔧 How we built it

We used the Horizon Worlds Desktop Editor with TypeScript-based scripting to create interactive mood buttons, trigger UI panels, and track user progression. The environment was carefully optimized for mobile using low-poly assets, subtle audio, and minimal UI. Scripts manage mood-specific logic, visibility toggles, and progression rewards.

🚧 Challenges we ran into

Integrating interactive scripts that handle branching mood logic while maintaining clean performance on mobile was a challenge. We also had to design the experience to be emotionally meaningful without sounding clinical or AI-generic. Ensuring reusability and extensibility for future AI integration was also tricky.

🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a serene, emotionally safe space that’s fully functional on mobile—complete with progression mechanics and shareable moments. The system encourages emotional reflection and gentle gamification without overwhelming users. The foundation is solid for integrating real AI agents in the future.

📚 What we learned

We deepened our understanding of Horizon Worlds’ scripting system and mobile optimization constraints. We also explored how emotional UX design can be merged with game mechanics in a virtual world environment, and how small features like badges can significantly enhance retention and sharing.

🚀 What's next for Igarys

We plan to integrate a live AI backend using Llama or GPT-style models via API for real conversational support. Future updates will include journaling spaces, user streaks, social co-check-ins, and sound therapy rooms. Igarys will continue evolving as a calm, gamified wellness companion within Horizon.
