Inspiration

Having taken the IELTS General Training exam last month, I discovered the crucial role practice plays in achieving a high score. I was inspired to create a dedicated practice resource for others striving to improve their writing skills for this test.

What it does

This website provides a focused platform for IELTS General Training writing practice. It features:

Task 1 and Task 2 Prompts: A wide range of realistic prompts based on your ideas and mirroring the official IELTS GT exam format. Sample Answers: High-scoring band examples to guide users and demonstrate effective writing techniques. Feedback System (Optional): An automated feedback system (if possible), analyzing grammar, structure, and vocabulary use.

How we built it

Content Development: Collaborated with experienced IELTS instructors to create authentic practice prompts and sample answers. Feedback System: Researched and potentially integrated existing AI-based assessment tools, tailoring them to the IELTS GT writing criteria.

Challenges we ran into

Accurate Feedback: Developing a prompt for feedback system that can reliably assess the nuances of IELTS GT writing proved challenging. Diverse Content: Continuously generating new prompts and sample answers to maintain a fresh and engaging resource was resource-intensive.
