Inspiration

Our inspiration comes from the Japanese concept of Ikigai, which translates to “reason for living”. Guided by this philosophy, our team has strived to integrate AI as a tool to help users navigate personal, artistic, and career inquiries. By including AI-driven insights, we aim to help create a more tailored and fulfilling experience that is personalized to each individual’s unique journey.

What it does

IDnity helps provide users with the tools and curated guidance to support their growth at pivotal moments in their lives, helping them dive deeper into self-discovery, unlock their truth, and align their passions with a discovery of meaningful service, ultimately leading to greater fulfillment in life.

How we built it

Throughout the development of our prototype, we utilized various tools and platforms and tools to bring our vision to life. We used Visual Studio Code to develop our platform, Microsoft Word for team collaboration and brainstorming, and Figma and Canvas** to design the visual layout of our potentional app layout and business model. Brandmark helped us create our prototype’s logo, while AI coding assistants like Sourcegraph enhanced our development process.

Challenges

One of the challenges that our team faced was trying to figure out how to build a market around a conceptual framework rather than a tangible product. However, after seeking many different advice, perspectives, and directions*from various **business and technology experts, we realized the value of creating a platform that users could actively engage with, that can help bring our vision to life in a more **impactful* and practical way.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

One accomplishment that our team is particularly proud of is developing a clear and cohesive design concept. With so many ideas and directions to explore, it was challenging to pinpoint the exact path forward. However, the process of refining our vision into a tangible design was both exciting and liberating for all of us.

What we learned

Throughout this project, most of us, coming from little to no coding background, gained an understanding of what goes into coding software. We also learned how to implement AI and utilize various technological tools to bring our vision to life. We deepened our understanding of the principles of Ikigai and the science behind AI, which allowed us to create a platform that is rooted in purpose and innovation. In addition, we gained valuable experience in structuring and presenting a business plan effectively displaying our strategies and marketing plans to reach our target audience. We also explored the digital divide and its impacts on access to technology, ensuring that our platform remains accessible and inclusive for all.

What's next for IDnity

The next step for IDnity is expanding into a mobile app, making our career, artistic, and personal development tools more accessible. We’ll enhance personalization through machine learning, integrate AI-powered mentorship matching, and introduce interactive skill-building features. Additionally, we plan to foster a dynamic community and collaborate with industry professionals to push out more real-world opportunities. Our goal is to continuously evolve IDnity into a comprehensive ecosystem that empowers users to discover and pursue fulfilling, purpose-driven lives.
