Inspiration
I've been looking to combine the social aspect of meet-up worlds with the passive games of idlers and incrementals.
What it does
Earn magic and mana passively while meeting new people. Boost each other by combining abilities and enhancing the artifacts around the world.
How I built it
Multiple interfaces, HUD, books, and bulletins use the Custom Inerface. It's my first non-primitive works and built the land and transparent textures in blender. I also utilized the generative AI meshes and textures.
Challenges we ran into
I had to learn the UI API and Blender from scratch. (But it was worth it.) I also was testing the new desktop editor which is still being developed.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The best feeling is learning. At first it is slow, but by the end of it I was churning out UIs, JSON broadcast events, and player animations.
What we learned
UI, JSON, event communications, avatar animations and spawning. All in typescript.
What's next for Idle Magic: The Gathering
I'm going to keep adding to this world and add mini games to get some social engagement. It is primarily idle and incremental with a social boost. Of there's enough traction, I have the base code prepped for more focus items, bonuses, and boosts.
