Inspiration

I wanted to make a survival game that felt specific: a rat colony living under a city grate, balancing safety underground with risk above the street.

What it does

Rat Game 3 is a mobile survival management game where you recruit rats, manage food, gather junk, assign jobs, and expand an underground nest.

How we built it

I built it as a pre-production package with a GDD, player journey map, visual concept package, and production plan.

Challenges we ran into

The hardest part was cutting ideas that sounded cool but made the game too complicated or pulled it away from the core loop.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that the game has a clear identity: grounded urban survival, clever rats, junk-built systems, and a strong contrast between the busy street and the sheltered nest.

What we learned

I learned that good design is about making every system matter, not just adding more features.

What's next for Rat Game 3

Next, I would build a playable MVP with rat recruitment, food pressure, job assignments, junk gathering, storage, and nest expansion.
