🧠 Inspiration

Hackathons are often about building one amazing project. But we thought, why not flip the script and deliver three chaotic innovations that ride the line between genius and madness? From AI gaslighting to preventing teen overdoses to chugging responsibly — we’ve got you covered. Shoutout to Arav for encouraging the madness.

💡 What it does

We built three very real tools:

🧠 Gaslight GPT

A sarcastic, debate-savvy chatbot that teaches you how to argue and win, with datalogic backing every gaslight.

  • Teaches persuasive speaking using AI
  • Auto-generates logical fallacies to help you spot (or abuse) them
  • Gamified chatbot that gets better the more you interact

🍻 ChugChamp

Helps you and your friends keep track of your hydration levels, drinks consumed, and avoids overindulgence.

  • Friendly leaderboard for safe drinking
  • Anonymous stats-sharing to prevent peer pressure
  • Rewards responsible choices with serotonin-friendly messages

🎰 LiveSpanned

A platform for political gambling — but with a twist. Real data, real odds, and real-time updates.

  • Bet (hypothetically) on political outcomes using historical data
  • Simulates real market dynamics to teach probability and civic engagement
  • Launching this summer for research use

🛠️ How we built it

  • Frontend: React, Vite, TailwindCSS
  • Backend: Node.js, Express, Firebase
  • AI/ML: OpenAI’s GPT-4 API, Prompt Engineering
  • Other tools: Figma, Canva, Heroku, Postman

🧪 Challenges we ran into

  • Making sure GaslightGPT didn’t turn evil (jury’s still out)
  • Finding the right balance of fun vs. serious for ChugChamp
  • Avoiding legal grey areas with LiveSpanned (satire saves lives)
