Inspiration

Tto create a modern AI EDM music video using the visual soft wipe/morphing concept from the music video CRY by Godley & Creme, which is 40 years old this year. Kevin Godley & Lol Creme were musicians (UK band 10CC) turned pioneering music video directors in the80s when MTV emerged.

IDENTITY ( Who are you now? I can see you alter ego) - Explores The Dimensions of Identity

What it does

How we built it

All the imagery, video and vocals are 100% AI. Lyrics were written by Mike Barnes/M3tanoia.

• Music production, synthesis and mix was created in Apple Logic Pro https://www.apple.com/logic-pro/ • AI Vocals were created using Voicemaker (Salli) https://voicemaker.in • AI Imagery was created in Meta EMU 3.5 https://www.meta.ai • AI Video was created using Kling 2.1 within Freepik https://www.freepik.com • AI Titling was created using GoogleDeepMind Imagen https://labs.google/fx/tools/image-fx • Video Edited in DaVInci Resolve 20 https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve

Challenges we ran into

META throttling rendering. Had to patiently render batches over 5 days. Needed over 100k Freepik credits to render all the video. Insufficient time to upscale everything to 2k or 4K so went with 1080P.

• 2000 Still images prompted via META EMU & hand retouched • 200 Video Start/End Frame Renders via Freepik Kling 2.1 • Compiled & Edited in BlackMagic DaVInci Resolve 20

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Using Meta EMU (Expressive Media Universe) interface to generate all the images (albeit partnership with Midjourney) . Impressive Image quality, realism and morphing expressions. I typically edit in Capcut Pro but moved to DaVinci Resolve 20 at the last minute for this project so a steep learning curve!

What we learned

Quantum amounts. This was a brand new workflow for me using primarily Meta, Freepik & Kling.
