Being successful in life is about learning to design your own solutions and about understanding how to acquire the knowledge and skills required to realize those solutions.
IdeatEd is a site that allows students to design and manage projects to solve problems in their community. This works as a mechanism to teach them the skill of self-directed scholarship. Students work hard to help their community, learning (or seeking out) necessary skills in the process. IdeatEd lowers barriers related to funding, mentorship, and tracking metrics to make this accessible. IdeatEd also tracks accomplishments, and the acquisition of knowledge & skills, to allow students to leverage their IdeatEd experience when applying to internships, colleges, and jobs.
Out goal is to arrest the cycle of poverty by teaching students to be the agents of their own education, to seek independent scholarship and to design their own solutions.
