Travel Advisor

Inspiration

This is my second year as a working adult. Slowly, I discover that my passion on anticipating some interesting thing in my life has decreased over the time, so I decide to come up with this project to plan my annual trip to let myself have a short break from the work and discover more parts of the world ！

What it does

To plan for a trip by scrolling through blogs and Googling will be very time consuming. With the help of Claude LLM, it can help to draft out an initial travelling plan that covers some interesting attractions, history, cultures & cuisines and some fun facts and additional information about the country. Then, from there, we could even dive deeper into some parts by consulting to the 'Travel Assistant'. The 'Travel Assistant' will help to clarify all the questions including the budgets, visa requirements and other requirements needed you have regarding the trip.

How we built it

Based on my previous experiences in travelling, I try to gather all the information that is required and try to put them all together into this project. Just by inserting with the destination that I plan to go, it will automatically provide all the information I need without having to browse all over the Internet. I have also spent some time to effectively design and improve prompts to get better results on different tasks with the Claude LLM.

Challenges we ran into

The challenges faced in completing this project will be designing the prompt to the LLMs. Initially, the images generated from the Stable Diffusion model based on the recommendations from the 'Travel Advisor' may a bit off from the reality. The results produced from the Claude LLM on the attractions are also not in details prior to fixing the prompts. I manage to overcome this issue by breaking my requirements into simpler sentences by putting in keywords and arrange them into sequence.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I feel that this project has perfectly fulfilled my requirements to plan for a trip. After validating few outputs provided by the Claude AI, I am extremely confident on the information provided by the Claude LLM. I highly recommends that this tool to anyone that wants to use them to plan for their trip.

What we learned

I have discovered some cool features using the platform and saw that there is a possibility for all the non-programmer to also create by integrating LLMs into their projects without any prior programming knowledge. Prompting techniques definitely will play a huge role when interacting with the LLMs. It actually opens up huge opportunities for us to create more interesting and cool projects focusing more on the ideas rather than the language syntax and debugging.

What's next for Travel Advisor

With the increasing features in the Amazon PartyRock platform in the near future, I think enhancements could be made to the project by upgrading into a more interesting and productivity tool that may produce a short video based on the recommendations and PPT slides that combined all the results from the LLMs.
