Inspiration
When we volunteered freshman year by tutoring kids, we met a girl with dyslexia who had a hard time reading. That inspired us to make this website.
What it does
We will provide a platform where parents can insert texts that their kids will be reading in classrooms, making it readable for them by putting each letter in a distinguishable color. This way children with disabilities such as dyslexia do not fall behind in their education.
How I built it
We used a library which gave us functions that allowed us to make the colored word text box.
Challenges I ran into
It was very challenging to try and change each letter into a different color and took us many hours.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We were very proud when we got the text bar that changes the color of words to work.
What I learned
I learned more about HTML and CSS coding.
What's next for IdeaLearning
We will try to add more features for people with different types of learning disabilities and add stories.
