IdeaCheck 💡 Is your idea worth building? IdeaCheck is a mobile app for young founders. Answer 11 quick questions about your idea and get a grade out of 100, your biggest risk, and what to do next.
What it does Free
An 11-question check-up, one question per screen (the problem, the customer, how often it hurts, price, reach, speed, and proof people will pay) A grade out of 100, split into four parts: Real problem, People will pay, You can reach them, You can start fast Your biggest risk and one concrete tip to fix it All your ideas saved on your phone IdeaCheck Pro (unlocked with an in-app purchase through RevenueCat)
📈 Market calculator: people you can reach → interested → buyers → money, and how many paying customers you need to reach your goal 🚀 Landing page builder: turns your answers into a one-file landing page with a waitlist, with a live preview and a share button 📋 Full report: strengths, risks and a day-by-day plan for your first week Design IdeaCheck looks like an idea notebook that gets marked in red pen. You write in ballpoint blue on ruled lines, and the app grades your idea the way a teacher marks a test: a circled grade, highlighter strokes for each part, and a note in the margin. The circle draws itself once when a grade opens (skipped when Reduce Motion is on). Type is Atkinson Hyperlegible for reading and Kalam for the handwritten marks. More in DESIGN.md.
How RevenueCat is used The paywall (src/app/paywall.js) loads the current offering from RevenueCat, so products and prices can be changed in the dashboard without an app update. Buying a package unlocks the pro entitlement. Every Pro screen checks it through one shared provider (src/lib/purchases.js). A customer info listener keeps the Pro state in sync, and Restore purchases is supported. For development and judging, the app uses RevenueCat's Test Store, so purchases work without App Store or Google Play accounts and never charge real money. Tech Expo SDK 57 + React Native, Expo Router for navigation react-native-purchases (RevenueCat) for in-app purchases expo-sqlite/kv-store for saving ideas on the device react-native-webview for the landing page preview, expo-file-system + expo-sharing to share it No backend and no paid APIs. The scoring runs on the phone. Run it Install Node.js (20 or newer), then: npm install Set up RevenueCat (free): Create a project at app.revenuecat.com and open its Test Store app. Create a product (for example ideacheck_pro_lifetime), an entitlement with the identifier pro, and attach the product to it. Add the product to an offering and make it the current offering. Copy the Test Store public API key (starts with test_) into src/lib/config.js. Start the app: npx expo start Scan the QR code with Expo Go. In Expo Go, RevenueCat runs in preview mode with simulated purchases. To test real Test Store purchases, make a development build: npx eas-cli@latest build --profile development --platform android Project structure src/ app/ screens (Expo Router) index.js home: your ideas + Pro status new.js the 11-question check-up idea/[id].js score, biggest risk, Pro tools market/[id].js market calculator (Pro) landing/[id].js landing page builder (Pro) report/[id].js full report (Pro) paywall.js RevenueCat paywall components/ buttons, cards, score bars, Pro gate, HTML preview lib/ questions.js the questions and their points scoring.js score, report and market math landing.js landing page HTML purchases.js RevenueCat setup and the Pro entitlement storage.js saved ideas
