Inspiration

I love saving travel ideas on Instagram, but then I forget where I saved them and never take action on using the ideas I discover on the platform.

What it does

Ideabook is an app that lets you import posts you like from Instagram (and other social media networks in the future) and connects them to travel ideas and tools so you can turn that inspiration into reality. The app scrapes the post information and extracts recommendations from it. It then gives additional AI-generated recommendations for that location based on a theme you select (e.g. food, historic, art, etc).

You can save these items as Trip Cards and use them to plan your travel.

How we built it

This app was built with Bolt.new as a web app primarily. It integrates with an Instagram scraper from Apify and generates recommendations via OpenAI. The backend db and cloud functions are hosted on Supabase. In the future, I will be integrating RevenueCat to monetize functions.

Challenges we ran into

I only started working on this project a couple of days ago so main challenge was time to complete all the functionality I envision! I'm submitting it though in basic form in case it generates any interest from others (or investors!)
