Inspiration

We decided on Shruthi's project idea - to create a glitchy complement web app. While she didn't contribute to coding, her ideas helped shape the concept.

What it does

iComplimentU gives users fun, AI-generated compliments along with hand-picked memes to brighten their day.

How we built it

We used React to build the frontend. The compliments are created using the OpenAI API, and we added a collection of 50+ memes from Pinterest to go with them. We also used the Google Fonts API to make the app look cooler.

Challenges we ran into

It was tricky to make sure the compliments matched the tone of the memes. We also had to figure out how to work with APIs and make everything load smoothly in the app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud that we combined AI text and funny images to make something fun and interactive that people enjoy using.

What we learned

We learned how to connect APIs like OpenAI and Google Fonts to a web app, how to handle real-time content updates, and how to use React better.

What's next for iComplimentU

We want to let users customize their experience, add more meme categories, and make it easy to share compliments on social media.
