Inspiration
The first and foremost inspiration lies in the fact that nothing like this exists presently. Prevents the hassle of physically visiting or being visited by an optician. Additionally, it doesn't require the need of corrective lenses or any measuring scales. Traditional eye-testing techniques involve hit and trial to evaluate corrective lens power. ICheck uses physics.
What it does
It calculates your eye lens power with the use of OpenCV in Real Time, where your computer acts as your optician.
How we built it
We used OpenCV to find out the distance between the eyes of the user and for the evaluation of the depth of the eyes with the use of Physics. We created a web platform for the same.
Challenges we ran into
Implementation of this was very tough, way beyond our expectations.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very pleased to have arrived at an idea like this, which has already been appreciated by fellow contestants Implementing a working version of this idea within less than 24 hours is also an accomplishment that we are proud of.
What we learned
We learned to manage time and learn a lot of new things.
What's next for ICheck
Integration with online eyeglass retailers and launching it on other platforms as well.
