Inspiration

People might find it hard to brainstorm ideas for really funny and engaging icebreaking games and the pandemic also pake constraints on how we can connect together. Therefore, this product aims to connect real people together in the meetings with easy, short, and collaborating games. There will no longer be any "run out of game ideas" or "awkward and silent moments" in the meetings.

What it does

Groups can create room and choose icebreaking games to play in the meeting. There are many games and content to try and explore.

How we built it

On the first day, I brainstorm the idea and did architecture design (user flow, entity-relation maps, database design). In the next 3 days, I implemented backend API. In the next 2.5 days, I developed the frontend and integrated it with the backend. On the last day, I reviewed, finalized, and did testing along with fixing bugs.

Challenges we ran into

Mostly the time constraint, since I have to give up some features from my original idea to come up with MVP version. Also, my technology choices and knowledge so the product now is not so reactive.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I have made a successful MVP in just 1 week! A lot of decisions I have never made before until this hackathon about full-stack development. My proud part may be the game-playing feature.

What we learned

Architecture, backend & frontend integration, and more in-depth about full-stack technology

What's next for Icebreaker

Definitely fixing bugs, contributing more content & supporting more games, and also more features to come (reactive frontend, background music, live chat, etc.)
