Icebox

Inspiration: The idea was collaborated during an brainstorming session.

What it does: It builds and searches a recipe based on what is on hand in the fridge.

How I built it: Used a combination of javascript, python, sqlite, html, bottle, and mod_wsgi in order to develop a web app.

Challenges I ran into: Populating the database, adding more functionality, image to text recognition, getting the project from local to online

Accomplishments that I'm proud of: Visual recognition software, web-scraping over five thousand recipes, designing the user interface and getting it online

What I learned: learning a new API (Clarifai), more advanced levels of coding and programming, working with CSS in combination with html, building a web-scraper, set up a website and redirect url

What's next for Icebox: Improving the UI and creating a mobile application. Adding nutritional information and scanning a receipt without uploading to the interface.
