Inspiration

Heart disease patients (ages 40–60) often find health apps overwhelming and too clinical. They want something simple, supportive, and non-intimidating. This inspired a design focused on warmth, ease, and small lifestyle improvements rather than perfection.

What it does

iCare (Heart Harmony) is an AI-powered smart ring + embedded that: means The ring will show the interface on the arm Tracks heart rate, sleep, and stress automatically Uses AI to analyze food from photos Logs mood and habits with simple taps Sends early warnings for abnormal heart activity Provides weekly motivation and positive feedback

How we built it

We combined: Wearable sensors (smart ring) for real-time data AI for food recognition and health insights A projected, high-contrast interface for accessibility Simple UX with large buttons and no typing

Challenges we ran into

Keeping the design simple but still powerful Avoiding a “medical” or scary experience Ensuring AI accuracy (food + health data) Designing a reliable but non-intrusive alert system

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Reduced food logging to a few seconds Built an intuitive, accessible interface Focused on encouragement instead of fear Combined physical, mental, and habit tracking

What we learned

Simplicity > complexity Positive feedback motivates better than warnings Small habit changes are more sustainable Design strongly impacts user trust and comfort

What's next for iCare

Smarter AI personalization Better family/caregiver integration Community support features Improved early risk prediction
