Inspiration
Last summer, I lost over 20 pounds just by tracking my daily macros and focusing on my protein intake. I wanted to bring that to the masses and make it easier for people to get healthier by tracking their food.
What it does
IAte uses AI for natural language processing and image recognition to help people track their daily macros for calories, protein, carbs, and fat.
How we built it
It's built using Flutter, Firebase, and Gemini AI from Google
Challenges we ran into
It took quite a bit of testing and experimentation to get a large language model to accurately and quickly track macros. After a lot of testing, I eventually had something that I was happy with and struck a good balance between speed and accuracy.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I feel it is one of the best options on the market for tracking your food on a daily basis. It simply gets out of the way compared to a lot of the other tools that I've tried
What's next for IAte - AI Food Calorie Tracker
Our immediate goal is to get it launched on Android as soon as possible. We're aiming for an October release, or earlier. From there, we would love to add more features around goals and editing your meals after they've been tracked.
