Inspiration

A friend of ours was organizing her internships in google sheets and we thought about how time-consuming and draining it is to search through your emails for internship opportunities and keep track of your applications.

What it does

It's a website that a user can create a profile, and then the user,password, and emails given from the user are put into a database where we are able to filter their emails based on various keywords (internship, job, etc).

How we built it

We built it using Flask, Firebase, and various AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and Gemini.

Challenges we ran in

We wanted to implement Google's gmail API, but were unsuccessful in doing so. Our main setback was taking a lot of time trying to implement the idea, when we could've redirected to another solution sooner.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully creating a database, where we can keep track of usernames and passwords, while keeping them confidential as well. Learning basic HTML syntax, and how to prompt AI tools to help us learn.

What we learned

We learned how to make a database, html, Flask and the libraries within it, and how to use GitHub commands as a team.

What's next for IASO

Implementing Google's gmail API to connect email accounts instead of hard-coded emails, as well as using Gemini API to summarize emails and reccomend responses.
