Inspiration

Access to proper healthcare

What it does

Connect patients to global/cross border network of doctors for comprehensive full medical check-up remotely, proper access to medical diagnostic & medical expertise

How I built it

The model/platform will be built using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR)

Challenges I ran into

Lack of accurate data, poor resources. Lack of funds for projects catering to Africa. Africa's diversity poses a huge challenge to operating under a single integrated platform like Asia, Europe or North Africa. As such, the platform must be tailored to at least the 6 geographical regions of Africa. Ability to recognize the unique contextual factors associated with tech deployment, and must tailor messages to local communities

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Was able to hire a developer capable of coding in 8 main African languages

What I learned

That Africa's diversity could also be its biggest challenge and barrier to entry

What's next for iAfya Virtual Health

Secure enough funds to launch a three-month pilot program in four countries (one from a main geographical area, At the conclusion of the pilot program the decision will be made to launch in the market that was the most receptive
