Every day, garbage accumulates in our streets and it is a reality that is observed in countless countries and affects the entire world. Although there are programs to raise awareness, the amount of waste is immense and deserves to be collected. This is what motivated me to want to change something in the world. So, why not look for innovative solutions to this problem? AI can be used to identify solid waste such as bottles, disposable plastics, papers or masks.
Now let's imagine robots capable of autonomously walking the streets using AI for street recognition and taking garbage to collection centers.
The project is an AI that is used to identify solid waste in urban environments and offices. This AI runs on a server to which the robot that collects the garbage connects using a cell phone.
Thinking about the future, let's imagine a park with a booth in the middle where the server containing the AI is located and around the park and the area there are robots with cameras collecting garbage that communicate with the server.
The robot prototype was made with Arduino and has 2 AI models, which are for garbage detection in streets and parks; and for garbage detection in living rooms and offices
I hope that the potential of this technology can be made known; with more investment, better materials could be financed for a robot with greater capabilities; with much more time, more powerful image datasets could be obtained.
