Inspiration
Provide a centralized, reliable and open data source for our authorities to monitor the sanitary situation and win the battle against COVID-19. Make the data available to the public to help citizens inform themselves.
What it does
The goal of our platform is to provide an easy-to-use tool for hospitals to enter the number of free ICU beds. The aggregate data received from all hospitals in the country is processed and offered to decision makers and citizens. By sourcing data directly in hospitals, we ensure reliable and up-to-date information.
How we built it
At the core is a database to centralize information from all over Switzerland. One webpage allows medical professionals to input data. The other webpage provides information in real time to citizens and authorities.
Challenges we ran into
It was the first hackathon for all members in the team. We had to learn to collaborate remotely while ensuring a fast work pace and coordination. We had to establish routines and learn by doing to solve technical challenges.
Accomplishments that we are proud of
We managed to work as a team and listen to each other. This allowed us to build a first MVP.
What we learned
Things that look quite simple can become quite complex (we should have known that already!). Life is tough when you don’t sleep!
What's next for I see U beds
Collaborate with authorities to ensure our solution provides them with the appropriate added value and obtain their support. Convince hospitals to adopt our solution, extend the available features, scale up and deploy! :-)
