Inspiration

The inspiration for this review/reputation application is the current state of the internet, the business model is too centralized, and surveillance capitalism has made privacy almost a thing of the past. We give users an opportunity to see who they are supporting when they use certain businesses, and offer the chance to leave reviews on these companies. Powered in part by Ai

What it does

A user enters a company name into an input box, triggering an api call to chat bot - causing a data scrape of the company (the mission of the company, the values they care about, the donations they make and who to) this gives users and investors a chance to really see who it is that they support, and how centralized their operation is. Additionally, users can leave reviews, where the companies have an opportunity to address these complaints & are incentivized by marketing tokens for the company if they satisfactorily find resolution.

How we built it

Through many long nights of researching and planning. I built this project solo, and spent a significant amount of time in the setup of the project, I utilized VS Code as my code editor, and foundry for testing and deployment of the smart contracts making up the project. With a simple front end built in react, I have experimented with wireframing the application exactly the way I want it to be, unrestricted of resources and time. I firmly believe this is an idea worth exploring - - especially given the problems this application addresses. This project was built with the MVP as the main goal, but this is only a stage of development, the next stage of development will consist of incorporating airdrops, and a more robust marketing plan, as well as the UX/UI aspect of the application. We will create an API endpoint for affiliate apps to connect to and utilize for them and the users of their app. This will help create more of a 'buzz' around the app, and bring in built in users. Perhaps as an addition to existing applications is a big aspect of I On You Reviews

Challenges we ran into

Time became an issue due to the fact that this was a solo build. Given more time and some exchange of ideas in regard to the application, the more robust and efficient the app will be, and while I am extremely confident in I On You Reviews, it is not lost on me that more time and resources will take the app to higher heights and plateaus.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am very proud of this work I put forth when submitting this project. I built this solo, and I am looking forward to bringing on at least one more developer, at minimum, to more fully build out this idea. I was very happy with the way in which I was able to plan out the project, and put my best effort into the execution phase. This, in my opinion has been a giant success up to the point of submission, and I really am anxious to continue building upon this application, and I am proud to put my name attached to the project as a whole

What we learned

I learned more about technologies I potentially was going to implement, and of features and functions that I will add into the app. The documentation of this app was actually my most favorite part, because it really was hammering home, and burning into my brain exactly what was happening where, in the app. The power of distributed storage and decentralized blockchain networks is truly massive, and I am so proud to be building the future of the internet, and helping address the parts that are broken--and educating as many users as I can about user ownership, intellectual property rights, and reasons our privacy is of utmost importance while digitally interacting with each other, especially when it comes to big tech companies, and our data.
