Inspiration
Janik has issues waking up in the morning. This has negatively affected his mental and physical health in the past as it leads to oversleeping. As such, Janik made a device to wake him up every morning with a jolt, allowing him to gather all the energy he needed for the day.
How we built it
The device is made with an ATmega328P with a board expansion board wired to a relay and an HC-05 Bluetooth module. Once powered on, the device is controlled by its custom app which allows users to set an alarm or simply toggle the device manually.
Challenges we ran into
The project had a delayed start as "Eng goes to Ceeps" was happening Friday night. As such, no 3D-printed casing could be made for the hardware.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This has been another successful hackathon for which the makers have found an excuse to tase both the hackers and the judges.
What's next for "i need to wake up"
Given more time, the makers intend to make the device powered by a wall outlet rather than a battery. As well, the hardware will be controlled via a web server connected to with an ESP8266 wifi module, to allow the user to connect it to a Google calendar and "notify" the user prior to an event.
