Inspiration

The idea started with a question:
“Everyone says AI is amazing — but isn’t it just doing what humans have always done?”

I wanted to capture the irony between AI’s flawless precision and the emotional depth that only humans possess.
The music video “I’m an AI” expresses this tension — between speed and meaning, technology and humanity.

What it does

“I’m an AI” is a short AI-generated music video, created entirely in CapCut.

  • The AI idol was generated with CapCut’s Text-to-Image (T2I) tool, using identity consistency for character continuity.
  • All movements and expressions were automatically generated by CapCut’s AI Conversation Scene feature.
  • No I2V or external video models were used.
    Only the music track was created separately.

How we built it

  1. Generated a consistent AI idol using CapCut’s T2I.
  2. Created multiple dialogue-based motion clips with AI Conversation Scene.
  3. Edited, timed, and color-graded entirely within CapCut.
  4. Synced visuals to the song manually to create rhythm and emotion.

Everything — from design to animation — was done inside CapCut.

Challenges we ran into

  • Maintaining visual consistency of the same AI character across shots
  • Syncing auto-generated motion to musical beats
  • Conveying emotion through AI-driven gestures
  • Avoiding an overproduced look while keeping a minimalist white background aesthetic

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Produced a fully AI-generated music video without any external animation tools
  • Demonstrated that CapCut alone can deliver professional-quality storytelling
  • Expressed a philosophical message about AI’s identity and human creativity through art

What we learned

Even without hand-drawn animation, emotion can emerge from AI-generated scenes — if guided with intention.
But this also revealed AI’s limits: it can mimic emotion, but not feel it.
That gap is where the story truly lives.

What's next for I’m an AI - CapCut AI Music Video

Next, I plan to expand the project into a series of AI-generated performances, exploring different emotional states and visual identities — all created with CapCut’s evolving AI tools.
Each video will push the boundary between machine creativity and human interpretation a little further.
