Coronary artery disease (CAD) is when the blood vessels that supply your heart muscle with oxygen get clogged or narrowed by fatty buildup called plaque. Over time, that buildup makes it harder for blood to reach the heart. Narrowing of arteries happens slowly. There are no pain sensors in the arteries. Many people only feel chest pain (angina) when the heart is working harder, like during exercise. At rest, blood flow may still be “good enough,” so nothing feels wrong. Heart attacks happen suddenly (That’s when CAD ultimately gets diagnosed).
I HEARt You uses 15-second voice AI to detect cardiac risk by using voice inputs analyzed with vocal biomarkers such as jitter, shimmer, HNR, and MFCC. With patient and provider dashboards, hospital integration, and privacy-first design, this advances UN SDG 3 through accessible prevention. According to WHO (World Health Organization), over 370,000 people in the United States die each year from CAD alone. 1 in 5 deaths in the United States are due to heart disease.
Vocal Biomarkers in relation to CAD (Coronary Artery Disease): Jitter: Shaky pitch ↑ in CAD Shimmer: Uneven loudness ↑ in CAD MFCC: Voice pattern shifts in CAD HNR (harmonic-noise ratio: noisy, gravelly voice ↓ in CAD
