We are overjoyed to have jumped into this hackathon; we really love the Bitcoin Propaganda track and think it is so important for all foundational technology, especially those that will improve the world (e.g., Bitcoin) to engage in culture. We have connected several projects and teams with this Pachaverse submission. Participating in the hackathon has clarified the direction forward, which is launching Pachaverse on Bitcoin now and beginning preparations for an animated feature and/or a Metaverse P2E game. Also, through this hackathon, we realized that the owner of DOG-GO-TO-THE-MOON is... Pacha! Thank you for inspiring breakthroughs.
What it does
This project uses music, video, an ordinal book, and several ordinal collections—created with DMT (Digital Matter Theory)—to draw people to Bitcoin. We created a 13-track album of Bitcoin-aligned music called "Running w/Bulls," and an EP with 7 versions of the "Good Morning LFG" song. Several seminal graphics surrounding the famous $DOG photo establishes Pacha as $DOG's human companion.
How we built it
For the ordinals, we used JavaScript with the BRC333 protocol within the VS Code IDE to create dynamic ordinals that change over time. We used Python3 for UNAT data analysis, and Cody for AI coding support. We used Wix to make the webpages and Excel to organize the DMT information. We hosted the generators on AWS.
For the music, we used ChapGPT-4 to generate ideas and lyrics and create cover images and video imagery. We used Suno AI to produce the songs, Luma Labs, Runway AI, and Neural Frames to create AI videos, and Descript to add captions.
For the picture book and the graphics, we used models in Maya to generate images and Google Slides to create the book. We also incorporated the inscriptions of several pages of the "Toddler Tale Told By Nature" book to ensure the approach we applied in the generator on the Pachaverse site also worked on Mainnet.
Challenges we ran into
We faced time constraints, which prevented us from completing videos of Pacha and $DOG, as well as music videos for the songs. We also didn't have enough time to finalize and launch the ordinal collections or add the dog to the Pachabilities collection, but we will. Additionally, we didn't have the opportunity to create resources on the site to help Bitcoin beginners understand ordinals, dynamic ordinals, and Digital Matter Theory. We were unable to inscribe the picture book because it would have cost about $2000 in fees at today's rates.
We had a real problem with our video editing software in the last two hours and it made the sound horrible for the submission video. We will see if we can swap it out via YouTube.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We developed three ordinal generators that display random artifacts from our interactive and dynamic UNAT collections. We are excited about the NatGoblins collection, where the moon in the ordinals tracks the lunar cycle and only displays at night, affecting the goblins' behavior. The NatGoblins generator works for both Bitcoin and Doge collections. The Los Pixales collection features dynamic changes over time, animation rarities, and interactivity. The Pachability collection is super cute, crisp, and appealing, showcasing the interactive display and a beautiful background gradients.
We surprised ourselves with the ordinal book. We finished it in the last three days. It is the first ordinal book, including front and back covers and 33 pages of pictures and text. We have incorporated interesting features in the book ordinal including default-hidden navigation buttons, a medal with block number blazing, clickthrough medal for block info, press i for information, Pacha's dog doing a cameo on the last page that foreshadows the next book, and easter eggs. Ordinal books have huge potential.
All the ordinals are dynamic UNATs (unique non-arbitrary tokens), with characteristics determined by Bitcoin block data using Digital Matter Theory (DMT), which we believe will attract NFT enthusiasts and crypto-curious individuals to Bitcoin. To make the UNATs, we did a complete numerical analysis of all the blocks that exhibit the 0x0 or web4 patterns in the Bits field. We released over 20 Bitcoin-aligned songs to 150 distributors, reaching a potential audience of over 2.7 billion people. We also explored and experimented with three AI video services and learned about their potential future uses. we also complete one video for DOG-GO-TO-THE-MOON.
What we learned
We realized that entertainment and music have huge potential as attractants to Bitcoin. We did not realize the online music distributors deliver venues with a reach of 2.7 billion people. One hot song on Bitcoin and tens of millions of people could be dancing and singing to it. Bitcoin living rent-free in their domes. Fun, community, innovation, and opportunity are reasons beyond security, privacy, fast international payments that will attract people to Bitcoin, particularly via the unique computing environments encompassing ordinals and stamps.
We are very pleased to realize the huge opportunity that we have to tell Bitcoin's story with our animated character Pacha and her storyworld. Through the hackathon, we solidified the idea of a SATS movie and that it involves Pacha and $DOG.
We were also impressed by how powerful AI music generation is. Additionally, we learned that while AI video technology still has a long way to go, it already offers powerful use cases that we will use for subsequent stages of this project.
What's next for The Pachaverse
Our next steps include finalizing the website, completing the ordinal collections, producing music videos for several of the songs, and launching one or more collections this summer around Bitcoin 2024. Once we have funds or if we win the track, we will inscribe the rest of the ordinal book imagery online so our ordinal picture book can be 100% on-chain for a Fall launch. (We need about $2K for this, and aim to raise this soon to enjoy the currently low bitcoin fees.) Once the images are onchain, we can make any number of versions, languages, interactions, and special edition ordinal collections with dynamic effects.
Assuming the ordinal book giveaway this Fall is a success, we will do Spanish and Chinese versions, and open up to collaboration with aligned brands that want to connect with families. We will also collab with communities that want translations of the ordinal book in other languages. Beyond the Toddler Tale, we also have a Pacha rhyming children's book (5-8 years) that could go through the same or different progression.
The ordinal book giveaways will ultimately enable families to enjoy great stories while learning about web3. Over the next year, we will be preparing to raise funds for an animated feature called SATS, a P2E game called PACHA JAMMA, and "real world" PJs that you can also wear in the Pachaverse. We may also launch a runes utility token for Pacha.
